Disney recently announced some major changes to their Fastpass Plus program. What are these changes and how can you use them to benefit you and your family?
Fastpass Open to Everyone
Fastpass Plus is now available to all Disney guests! This week, they opened up the program to non-resort guests, which will allow everyone to pre-book their Fastpass reservations. Guests will still need to register online at My Disney Experience. Once they do that, they can purchase a MagicBand, book Fastpass+ reservations, and truly plan their vacation.
Fastpass Plus Changes
There have been many complaints regarding the Fastpass Plus system. Disney announced plans to expand Fastpass plus in two significant ways:
- First, additional fastpasses can be acquired once you have used your first three fastpasses. Once you use that fastpass, you can then get another, and so on.
- Second, Disney is working on incorporating park hopper passes with Fastpasses. One of the more annoying portions of this system is that you cannot get fastpasses at multiple locations. There probably were less than ten people in the country who honestly liked this change. So Disney has listened and will announce these enhancements in the future.
How Does This Change Things?
Potentially, this can be a life-saver on busy days. As we test, hear feedback, and do additional research, we’ll provide our recommendations in the days and weeks to come. We’ll likely update our main Fastpass Plus page, and give you the information you need to make good decisions.
However, if you use Fastpasses for nighttime experiences, such as the parade or Fantasmic, this change wouldn’t affect you. You need to burn through all three of your fastpasses before you can use a fourth. But on busy days, you could schedule fastpasses early, and potentially use a large number of them. We will have to test out a plan, and when we do, we’ll let you know how it goes!
