My Disney Experience Tips
In this section we are going to discuss Disney’s new system, My Magic Plus, which runs on the My Disney Experience website.
Gone are the days where you show up at the park, have no plans, grab fastpasses along the way, and run across the park grabbing fastpasses. This new system requires a lot of planning, and takes a little bit of effort BEFORE your vacation begins. Fortunately, we’ve gone through this process and can help you make it as painless as possible.
We know that everyone doesn’t enjoy planning a vacation. But we will try to make this as easy as possible. A little bit of planning will save a lot of stress when your trip begins!
The purpose of the articles in this series are to help you plan your trip, and step you through the entire process from the moment you sign up on Disney’s website, all the way down to the selection of your Fastpass Plus choices, Magic Band colors and restaurant choices!

My Family and Friends
Part 1 of this series discusses setting up the My Family and Friends section of the website. Instead of making generic reservations, you will now tell Disney who all members of your party are, and you will be able to make dining and Fastpass choices for everyone on your vacation. However, if you don’t set this up properly, you will run into trouble, especially when it comes to the Fastpasses. We will walk you through the steps of this process, and give you some helpful tips that can save you a lot of valuable park time!
Making Online Dining Reservations
You no longer need to call and make dining reservations. With the new system, it’s actually much easier to do it online than to get on the phone and wait in line. In Part 2, we will show you how to make dining reservations using the new system, how to make changes, and give you some helpful tips when it comes to making reservations with a large party.
Fastpass Plus Reservations
The Fastpass Plus system is revolutionizing the way people tour Walt Disney World. Many people have been frustrated by this change, but we are here to make it easy. In Part 3, we will show you how to make Fastpass Plus reservations. We will help you understand this new offering from Disney, and show you how you can use it to your advantage. Although the there are a lot of changes, you can see some great benefits from this new system. Our goal is to show you these benefits, as well as walk you through the process of booking your fastpasses online.
In the past, it could be difficult to remember where all your reservations were, what your schedule was, and where you needed to be at any point in time. Guests would have spreadsheets, hand-written notes and confusing documents to remind them of their daily schedule. In addition, it could be difficult to remember park hours, show times and parade/firework times. In Part 4, we go over the My Itinerary section of the My Disney Experience website. This section can truly be a time-saver if it is setup correctly!
Magic Band Explanation and Customization
Approximately a month before your vacation begins, an exciting thing happens. The “magic” begins when your Magic Bands are shipped to your house! In Part 5, we’ll explain this process, and also go over the different things that you will be able to do with your Disney Magic Bands!
Overall, many people are skeptical about the changes that Disney has made. But the smart thing to do is to dive right in, and figure out how you can use the new system to your advantage. We hope this series of articles helps you have a great time on your Walt Disney World vacation!
